Bridges Henneaulaan
De Werkvennootschap
Zaventem, belgium
Smulders and Besix constructed one of the two corten steel bridges on R0-Henneaulaan on the Brussels Ring Road, on behalf of De Werkvennootschap.
Anyone driving along the connecting road between Zaventem and Diegem from now on sees two new corten steel bridges. As part of a complete modernisation and redesign of the Brussels Ring Road, Smulders, together with Besix, was commissioned to renew Hector-Henneaulaan in corten steel. This is unique for us thanks to the technically complex concept we had not yet made structural bridges of in Belgium.
From now on, this bridge provides safer roads with smooth access and exit ramps, better traffic flow resulting in fewer traffic queues and a pleasant environment for people and animals.
All works were carried out in-house. KW01, the bridge for cyclists and pedestrians with a bus lane and eco passage, was built in Hoboken and Balen. The second bridge, KW02 for car traffic, was entirely manufactured in Arendonk.
With the necessary challenges of size, weight and material, the project was successfully installed and commissioned.
