Eerste gerenoveerde Krammersluisdeur terug op haar plaats
The first renovated lock gate of the Krammer Locks has been successfully reinstalled in Bruinisse. This marks an important new milestone in the renovation project.
Following its renovation at our yard in Vlissingen, the lock gate began a remarkable journey. After trial lifts, inspections and extensive preparation works, the gate was transported across the waterways of Zeeland back to the Krammer Locks complex.
The installation itself was a technically challenging operation. First, the existing lock gate was removed, followed by the installation of the roller carriages, after which the 340-tonne renovated lock gate was carefully put back into place. Thanks to thorough preparation and close collaboration between all parties involved, the operation was carried out safely and in a controlled manner.
The installation of this first gate is an important step in the renovation of the Krammer Locks. In total, five lock gates are being renovated and modernised. While Rijkswaterstaat will spend the coming weeks bringing this first gate back into operation, work on the next lock gate is already starting in Vlissingen.
Through Iemants, Smulders is contributing to this project as part of the ZEEKR joint venture, commissioned by Rijkswaterstaat.
