Load out of the Hollandse Kust (west Beta) substation topside
This past Saturday, the substation topside for the Hollandse Kust (west Beta) offshore wind farm, developed by TenneT, was successfully loaded out.
The 4,000+ ton structure was loaded on 3 May 2025, at the yard of our joint venture partner Equans BeLux in Hoboken.
The topside is now nearly ready to set sail to its final location, approximately 50 kilometers off the Dutch coast.
Hollandse Kust (west Beta) is the third and final offshore substation Smulders and Equans BeLux delivered for TenneT, following the successful completion of Hollandse Kust (noord) and Hollandse Kust (west Alpha).
These platforms form part of the Dutch government’s goal to meet 40% of the country’s electricity demand with offshore wind. Our client TenneT plays a key role in making this possible by developing large-scale grid connections in the Dutch North Sea.
