On Monday 22 July, the first parts of the steel arch bridge for the Rozenburg lock arrived at the Theemsweg route project location. The bridge sections were built at our production facility in Hoboken. Between 20 July and 31 July, the bridge sections were transported in 3 separate water transports to the pre-assembly location next to the Rozenburg lock. The transports were carried out in cooperation with Mammoet.
At the location next to the lock, these bridge sections will be built into an arched bridge, with a single span of 172.8 m. The total length of the bridge is 176.8 m and is intended for the Theemswegtracé. This bridge will be installed in the spring of 2020.
The consortium SaVe, comprising the constructing companies BESIX, Mobilis, Dura Vermeer, Hollandia and Iemants, are building the substructure on behalf of the Port of Rotterdam.
