Smulders Projects acquires contract for 67 transition pieces for Dudgeon Offshore Windfarm

July 30th '14

On July 3 2014 Smulders Projects was awarded the contract for the supply of 67 Transition Pieces for the Dudgeon Offshore Wind Farm. The project is owned by a joint venture of Statoil (70%) and Statkraft (30%).

The Dudgeon Offshore Windfarm will be constructed on the coast of Norfolk, South East England. The wind farm comprises 67 monopile foundations on which 6 MW turbines will be placed. Because of these large capacity turbines, the transition pieces will be the largest ones ever produced in our facilities.

The transition pieces for Dudgeon will be produced from the last quarter of 2015 until the second quarter of 2016, directly following the Gemini project. In 2008, the client Statoil/Statkraft developed the Sheringham Shoal Offshore Windfarm with 88 foundations, also supplied by Smulders Projects. We are proud that our customers keep coming back to us for their next project(s).
