Smulders, together with BelOrta, Pidpa and Bouwgroep Willemen, may call itself the first 'SDG Champion' from the Mechelen-Kempen region. We received the recognition from Voka Mechelen-Kempen last week.
"An 'SDG Champion' creates a real transition and system change. With innovative projects, they make a difference in terms of CO2 reduction, clean and affordable energy and also sustainable water use," says Tom Laveren of Voka Mechelen-Kempen.
Smulders became an SDG Pioneer in 2019. A year later, we received the UNITAR certificate from the United Nations. In October 2022, we were rewarded for our sustainable programme and received the Sustainable Business Award from Voka.
