For the Triton Knoll Offshore Wind Farm Smulders is, besides for the 90 transition pieces for the wind turbines, building the two Offshore Transformer Modules and their twho monopile foundations.


The OTM left the ENGIE Fabricom yard in Hoboken on 6 April and reached its offshore location on 12 April. Once it arrived, it was successfully installed onto its monopile foundations: transition pieces and cable decks manufactured by Smulders at our Wallsend facility near Newcastle.


The contract for the construction of the two OTMs was awarded by Siemens Transmission & Distribution Ltd to the Smulders – ENGIE Fabricom consortium. The consortium is responsible for the design, production, blasting and painting of the modules.
