Renfrew Bridge successfully closes for the first time!

September 09th '24

The Renfrew bridge is a crossing bridge over the river ‘Clyde’ in Glasgow that, commissioned by GRAHAM, was built in two sections. At the end of July, both sections of the Renfrew Bridge in Glasgow were connected together for the first time, perfectly aligning. This marks an important milestone towards the completion and delivery of the bridge in the autumn.

Smulders was responsible for the execution design, procurement, production and assembly of the north section. In early May, the bridge, with a total weight of 1,550 tons, was loaded out in Vlissingen and set sail for its final destination in Glasgow.

The south section was built by our joint-venture partner Hollandia Infra. It set sail for Glasgow on 17 April 2024 and was installed at the end of April.
