Successful move out substation topside Hollandse Kust (west Beta)

September 05th '24

On Friday 30 August, the substation topside for the Hollandse Kust (west Beta) Offshore Wind Farm was moved outside from the EQUANS construction hall.

The substation topside, with a total weight of 3,600 tons, will be further finalised outside. The load out and sail away are scheduled for spring 2025.

Hollandse Kust (west Beta) is the third and final offshore substation that Smulders and EQUANS are constructing for TenneT. The substation jacket was built at our yard in Vlissingen and was already installed offshore in May 2024.

The wind farm, exploited by energy supplier RWE, with a total capacity of 700 MW, will be operational in 2027.
